The Oxford BRA (Breast Reconstruction Awareness) group
Who are we?
The BRA group is a support group set up by women for women who have either previously undergone or are currently awaiting or considering breast reconstruction. This may be following cancer treatment, or following surgery to reduce the risk of cancer in high-risk patients. We meet at the John Radcliffe Hospital and are supported by the team of medical and non-medical staff there.
When do we hold our meetings?
The meetings are held in the evenings (19:30-21:30) at the John Radcliffe Hospital every 5-6 weeks. The setting is informal and the meetings are for women only. We recognise the important contribution that partners/friends provide and patients are encouraged to come along with a female relative or friend.
